**Alert messages** are banners that are displayed at the top of the Housekeeping window for all users. Alert messages can be used to inform housekeeping staff about special events (such as fire drills or maintenance breaks) or requests (such as guests arriving early).

- Alert messages are set in the **Alert - set message** **view**.
- All alert messages are recorded and can be viewed in the the **Alert log**.

## Alert - set message

All Housekeeping users may set and remove alert messages.

1. Click **Alert - set message** on the Housekeeping home page.
2. Type a message in the text field and save by clicking **Submit message**.

3. The alert message banner appears in most windows for all users.

- Users can remove the message by clicking **X** on the message banner.

> ⚠️ An alert message may be removed by any user. If removed, the message is removed from all users.

## Alert log

All alert messages are recorded in the the alert log.

1. Open the log by clicking **Alert log** on the home page.

- The alert log shows both active messages and messages that have been removed.

2. You can clear alert messages from the log by clicking the check box on the message row and clicking **Remove selected items**.

> ⚠️ Alert message entries may be removed by any user. If removed, an entry is removed from all users.
