The minibar feature is an optional functionality that can be set up to work with a selected [POS](https://vitechotellinx.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KB/pages/32342093) product profile.

- When minibar charges are added through Housekeeping, the corresponding products are also deducted from [Stock Control](https://vitechotellinx.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KB/pages/65549) (if in use).
- If the feature has not been activated, the minibar icon will not appear on your screen.

## Adding minibar postings

Cleaning staff can add minibar postings to guest rooms in the **Cleaning view**. Minibar postings are added to the room bill in the POS and deducted from Stock Control (if in use).

1. Open the Cleaning view by clicking **Cleaning** on the Housekeeping home page.
2. Use the filters at the top of the view to select the rooms that are displayed.
3. Click the minibar icon to add postings to the room bill (e.g. below **Bar (0) **).

4. You will see a list of available products. Use the ` + ` and ` – ` buttons to add and remove products to / from the room bill.

- You can also use the **plu code** field to read or type a bar code.

5. Click **Save changes**.
6. The number in the minibar button shows recently added postings, e.g. **Bar (1)**.

7. The posting is also included on the room bill in POS.

> 📝 If minibar postings are made to a **room that is not checked in**, they will go to a **default account **(set during Housekeeping setup). In this case, the posting row in POS shows which room the posting belongs to.

## Recent minibar postings

You can view postings made during the current session in the **Recent minibar postings** **view**.

1. Open the view by clicking **Recent minibar postings** on the Housekeeping home page.

> 📝 If minibar postings are made to a **room that is not checked in**, they will go to a **default account **(set during Housekeeping setup). In this case, the posting row in POS shows which room the posting belongs to.
