**Capacity analysis **is a planning tool that provides a clear summary of key hotel information, such as:

- Overview of occupancy (including rooms with guests on the previous night and the number of adults and children)
- Rooms requiring final cleaning (today’s departures)
- New arrivals and continuing stays
- Day-use rooms (arrival date = departure date)

Capacity analysis can be used, for example, in shift planning.

## Using Capacity analysis

1. Click on **Capacity analysis** on the Housekeeping home page.
2. Capacity analysis window opens up showing the next seven days.

3. The breakdown provides the following details per date, including the number of rooms, adults and children:

- **Stay overs**: Guests who stayed in the hotel the previous night.
  - For example, stay overs for **March 25** would include guests who stayed from **March 24 to March 25**.
  - If breakfast is included, these guests would have breakfast on **March 25**.
- **Day Rooms**: Arrival and departure on the same day.
- **Departures **/** Arrivals**: Guests checking out or arriving.
- **Continuing Stay**: Guests who stayed the previous night and will also stay the following night.
  - For example, on **March 25**, continuing stays would include those who stayed from **March 24 to March 25** and will also stay from **March 25 to March 26**.
